The Kremlin reported the complete capture of Kostiantynivka in Donetsk region. This is reported by UNN with reference to Russian media.

It is noted that Putin's spokesman Dmitry Peskov, commenting on the Russian dictator's visit to one of the auxiliary command posts of the joint group of forces, stated that "the main news is that Kostiantynivka has been completely taken."
There, Putin also stated that they had managed to completely complete the liberation of the Luhansk People's Republic and achieve significant progress on the territory of the Donetsk People's Republic
Also, according to him, Putin announced the planned creation of a "security zone" in the Kharkiv and Sumy regions of Ukraine, and stated that "the more the Armed Forces of Ukraine strike at infrastructure, the larger Russia will have to make the security zone."

The battles for Kostiantynivka - a large industrial center and key transport hub of Donetsk region - have been ongoing since October 2025. Before the beginning of 2022, almost 80,000 people lived in the city, ranking it ninth in the region by population.
