The EU is exploring additional ways to support Ukraine, in addition to the already planned aid for 2025 and the 15 billion euros promised by member states. Zelenskyy called for the allocation of 5 billion euros for shells.
The European Union continues to explore ways to increase support for Ukraine in addition to the already identified assistance for 2025 and the commitments of various member states to allocate at least 15 billion euros. This was stated by the President of the European Council, António Costa, following the EU summit on March 20, writes UNN.
We have already provided financial and military support for Ukraine throughout 2025. With the package presented by the European Commission 2 weeks ago, we are expanding the room for maneuver for various member states to increase support for Ukraine. At the moment, various member states have already pledged to allocate at least 15 billion euros, and they are working on it. And we continue to explore other ways to increase our support for Ukraine,"

President Volodymyr Zelensky, speaking at the European Council meeting, stressed that Ukraine needs funds for artillery shells, and Kyiv would be grateful for European support of at least 5 billion euros as soon as possible.
Head of Diplomacy EU Kaya Kallas said before the bloc's summit that the EU is currently working on a "realistic" plan for 5 billion euros for ammunition for Ukraine, "if we cannot decide right now for the whole next year", against the background of a proposal for aid of up to 40 billion euros for Kyiv.
