Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi stated that the adversary is not abandoning its aggressive plans and is preparing new strikes. The Defense Forces are increasing their air defense capabilities, with nearly 5,000 Shahed drones destroyed in June.
The enemy is not abandoning its aggressive plans, accumulating forces and means for new massive strikes. This was stated by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, after a comprehensive meeting on countering air threats, reports UNN.

The Commander-in-Chief added that despite the enemy continuing its missile and drone terror against Ukrainian cities and towns, increasing the share of jet-powered unmanned aerial vehicles and loitering munitions, the Defense Forces of Ukraine are consistently building their capabilities.
Our response is a systematic strengthening of air defense, direct air defense forces, and electronic warfare, as well as striking enemy military targets deep within its territory — places of production, storage, and launch of air attack means. I can state that the Defense Forces of Ukraine are consistently, both quantitatively and qualitatively, building capabilities to counter Shahed-type strike UAVs and other drones of this class. Every month we increase the number of interceptor drone crews, raise their training level and combat effectiveness.
According to him, a tangible result is provided by the creation of operational interaction and coordination centers, which ensure rapid decision-making and effective management of forces and means. During June, almost 5,000 Shahed-type strike drones and other similar types were destroyed in total. Of these, 55% were neutralized by crews of the first interception echelon.
We continue to build the capabilities of the fourth interception echelon. Automated turrets are increasingly being involved in combat work, which destroyed 26 enemy air attack means in the past month alone. We are also deploying a network of remote control spots.
According to him, the search for the most effective models for using interceptor drones and tactics for their application continues.
Army aviation of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine destroyed 338 aerial targets in June. To increase the effectiveness of its use, the equipping of combat helicopters with the latest missile launchers, optoelectronic stations, and modern video surveillance systems continues.
Interceptor drones of the Kyiv air defense forces and means group destroyed over 500 aerial targets in June. In total, over 600 enemy air attack means were neutralized in the capital region during the month. We are also strengthening the anti-drone protection system for important administrative centers.
