The aviation industry paid over UAH 702 million in taxes to the budget in 2025, a record high for the last 8 years - State Tax Service

In 2025, the aviation industry transferred over UAH 702 million to the budget, marking a record for the past eight years. Passenger carriers paid the largest share.

Despite the war and closed airspace, Ukraine's aviation industry continues to be a significant taxpayer. Based on the results of 2025, enterprises in the sector transferred 702,230,900 hryvnias to the budget, with the largest revenues coming from companies engaged in passenger air transportation. As reported by the State Tax Service in response to a request from UNN, this is a record tax payment figure for the industry over the last eight years.
According to the State Tax Service of Ukraine, the largest amount of taxes in 2025 came from companies whose main activity is "Passenger air transport" — 526,799,000 hryvnias.
Enterprises engaged in the repair and maintenance of aircraft and spacecraft paid 125,746,000 hryvnias in taxes over the past year.
Ukraine's budget received 49,685,400 hryvnias last year from enterprises whose main activity is "Freight air transport."
At the same time, according to the State Tax Service of Ukraine, the budget received 515,540,100 hryvnias from the industry in 2024, and 392,632,900 hryvnias in 2023.
The lowest tax revenues from the industry were in 2022, the year the full-scale war began — 297,258,900 hryvnias.
Prior to Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, aviation industry enterprises paid 566,343,300 hryvnias to the budget in 2021, 411,815,500 hryvnias in 2020, 613,135,000 hryvnias in 2019, and 506,289,400 hryvnias in 2018.
Thus, as statistics show, despite the war, the aviation industry continues to operate and fill the Ukrainian budget, even though airlines had to relocate abroad due to the closure of Ukrainian skies to civilian aviation.
