Protesters against the only presidential candidate, Mikheil Kavelashvili, gathered near the Georgian parliament. The demonstrators came with diplomas, emphasizing the candidate's lack of higher education.

In Tbilisi, the number of participants in the rally near the parliament building continues to grow. This is reported by Echo of the Caucasus, UNN reports.

The protests are taking place against the backdrop of the presidential election, where the only candidate is a representative of the ruling party Mikheil Kavelashvili.

The current President of Georgia, Salome Zurabishvili, joined the protesters. Her arrival drew applause from the audience.

The protesters also attracted attention with a gesture of protest: many of them came with their own diplomas, emphasizing that Kavelashvili does not have a university degree, which became a subject of public discussion.

This fact, according to the protesters, symbolizes a crisis in the country's governance. Kavelashvili was previously unable to run for the presidency of the Georgian Football Federation due to the lack of a diploma, which now raises additional concerns in the context of his presidential ambitions. 

The protesters plan to stay near the parliament building throughout the day.
