Kyiv was attacked by Iskander-M and S-400 missiles, which were intercepted. Experts suggest that Russia has switched to ballistic missiles because of the ineffectiveness of drone strikes on the capital.

Last night, according to preliminary information from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the missile attack on Kyiv was carried out with Iskander-M and S-400 missiles. All the enemy targets were shot down. According to the experts of the Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise, the change in the tactics of Russian strikes on the capital of Ukraine was caused by objective factors, UNN writes.

In particular, Oleksandr Ruvin, Director of Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise, believes that the UAV strikes on Kyiv were ineffective.

"The Russians must have realized that it is very difficult to hit Kyiv with UAVs in such small batches, and that is why they use ballistics. Ballistics, this is the C-400 in the new version, which flies much further, or Iskander-M, Iskander-K" - Ruvin noted earlier.

As for the C-400, the enemy began to use a new type of missile in these systems.

"The Russian military has indeed begun to use new types of 40N6 anti-aircraft missiles in S-400 systems. This is evidenced by parts and fragments found in the Zaporizhzhia sector. Preliminary expert identification indicates that the missiles in question may be prototypes, and the enemy is testing them," explained the head of KFI.

According to Ruvin, these complexes are often deployed in the border area, not far from the contact line, and the range of the new missile will now be about 380-400 km.

"We will be able to provide more detailed information after the completion of laboratory tests. The experience of working with prototypes of Russian weapons is not new to us," said Oleksandr Ruvin, Director of the Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise.

According to Ruvin, the Iskander-M is the most used because it is the easiest to launch and we cannot see where and when it was launched. In order to somehow mislead our air defense systems The experts of the Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise examine the weapons used by the enemy to fire at Ukraine - they are the first to go to the places of "arrivals" together with rescuers and receive fragments or survivors of missiles of various types and all types of UAVs for examination.

Recent studies show that international sanctions are having an effect - the quality of electronic components of missiles and UAVs has deteriorated significantly. That is why the enemy has switched to more frequent launches of ballistic weapons: Iskander-M and Iskander-K missiles.
