Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez suspends his public duties to consider whether he should continue to lead the government or resign amid corruption charges against his wife.
Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez said he wants to resign in order to "stop and think" about whether he wants to continue to engage in politics. Sanchez published an open letter in the social network X, reports UNN.
I urgently need an answer to the question of whether I should (...) continue to lead the government or give up this honor.

The prime minister explained that he is considering resigning because of the attacks he and his wife have faced in recent weeks.
Sanchez, 52, said he was canceling all public appearances for the next few days to reflect on the situation and would announce his final decision on Monday.
Is it all worth it? To be honest, I don't know.
Context
Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez made a shocking resignation announcement after a Spanish court announced earlier on Wednesday that it was launching a preliminary investigation into alleged crimes by his wife, Begonia Gomez. She is facing charges of "abuse of influence" for business and corruption, namely "possible influence peddling with companies and institutions that subsequently received large contracts from the administration headed by her husband.
PP Senator Javier Maroto, the first vice president of the upper house, suggeststhat Begonia Gomez "used" her status as the wife of the head of government for her own benefit, and that her legal husband was not aware of it.
Every day there are more and more reasons to believe that Sánchez's wife is using her privileged position for her own benefit."
