A man who opened fire in a village in Ternopil region has been notified of being suspected of the premeditated murder of two people. The suspect faces life imprisonment, and the issue of detention is being decided.

Police investigators in Ternopil region have served a notice of suspicion to a man who opened fire on people, killing two people and injuring four others. UNN reports this with reference to the National Police.

The suspect is charged with the premeditated murder of two people (Article 115(2)(1) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). He faces life imprisonment.

Investigative actions are being conducted with the suspect. The issue of choosing a measure of restraint in the form of detention is being decided.

On Thursday, August 15, in one of the villages of the Zbarazh community in Ternopil district, a man dressed in a military uniform opened fire . Two victims were taken to the hospital, and two more were treated by medics at the scene.

The police promptly detained the armed attacker in accordance with Art. 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine and placed him in a temporary detention center.
