High passenger traffic of up to 150 thousand people per day has been recorded at the Ukrainian border. 85% of the total flow is made up of Ukrainians, half of whom cross the border with Poland.

Since December 14, passenger traffic at the border with Ukraine has remained high and dynamic. Passenger traffic decreased on Christmas Day, but started to grow again after the holiday. Currently, about 85% of people crossing the border are citizens of Ukraine. This was stated by SBGS spokesman Andriy Demchenko during a telethon, UNN reports .

150 thousand is the highest figure we have had in this period. Since the 14th, the passenger traffic has been quite high, and we must understand that it is quite dynamic. While the weekend before Christmas, the figures of 150 thousand were maintained throughout Saturday and Sunday, for example, 68 thousand people crossed the border on Christmas Day itself. On the holiday itself, there are not too many people who want to cross the border and be on the road. That's why the dynamics decreased at that time, but later the passenger traffic started to grow again. Two days ago, it was at the level of 115 thousand people per day, and yesterday 96 thousand people crossed the border

- Demchenko said.

He noted that before Christmas, border guards observed a preference for entry into Ukraine, and afterwards - for exit.

“It's not a huge advantage, but still, more citizens cross the border every day to leave Ukraine. It should be added that 85% of the total passenger traffic is made up of Ukrainian citizens. 15% are foreigners crossing our border. The border with Poland still accounts for 50% of the total passenger traffic. This direction is the busiest and most popular for crossing the border,” added Demchenko.

Recall

The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine has confirmed that Santa Claus crossed the border. The festive guest went on his mission to visit every Ukrainian home on New Year's Eve.
