The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) has summoned Swiss Ambassador Christina Marty Lang and announced a demarche in connection with the decision of the country's parliament to confiscate Russian assets. This is stated in a statement on the website of the Russian Foreign Ministry, UNN reports .

It is noted that the Swiss parliament has decided to start developing the legal basis for a mechanism to confiscate Russian assets located in the country.
The Russian side strongly condemns this step by the Swiss authorities, which grossly violates the fundamental principles and norms of international law on state immunity,
The Russian Foreign Ministry emphasized that any encroachment on Russian property would be considered theft at the state level. If this initiative is implemented, Moscow will take retaliatory measures.
