Production of tobacco products worth over UAH 600 thousand exposed in Prykarpattia region

Law enforcers uncovered clandestine tobacco production in Kolomyia and Sniatyn districts. One ton of tobacco, 2000 packs of finished products and equipment worth UAH 600 thousand were seized.
In Prykarpattia, law enforcement officers liquidated the underground production of tobacco products worth more than UAH 600 thousand, UNN reports, citing the National Police of Ukraine.

The organizers of the “business” were residents of Kolomyia and Sniatyn districts. They grew tobacco, then processed it and made cigarettes of various brands.
The products were sold in bulk without excise tax stamps, and tobacco was also sold to buyers in the western regions.
To dismantle the clandestine production, operatives of the Strategic Investigations Department in Ivano-Frankivsk region, together with investigators of the Regional Police Investigation Department, conducted searches at the suspects' residences and on land plots owned by them. About a ton of tobacco, more than 2,000 packs of finished products, equipment, almost 30,000 cigarette blanks, etc. were seized. The total value of the seized goods reaches UAH 600,000
