The Prince of Wales visited Estonia to support British troops in NATO's Operation Cabrit. He familiarized himself with military equipment and discussed the threat of drones.

Prince William of Wales visited Estonia to support British soldiers involved in the largest British Army overseas operation to date. The purpose of the operation is to protect the Baltic states from potential aggression by Russia. This is reported by the BBC, writes UNN.

Details

According to the publication, during his two-day trip to Estonia, Prince William visited part of the 900 British soldiers as part of these multinational forces, including soldiers of the Mercian Regiment, of which the Prince is the commander-in-chief.

He was given a tour of military training grounds at Camp Tapa, which is part of Operation Cabrit, which is the UK's contribution to ensuring NATO's "collective security and defence" in this vulnerable Baltic region.

The Prince was shown field training of this battle group, and he also met with Estonian and French soldiers. He also asked the soldiers about their service on the front lines, especially in the context of their proximity to the Russian border.

In addition to riding a Challenger 2 tank, the Prince saw a Warrior armored personnel carrier, a French Griffon fighting vehicle, a multiple launch rocket system, a Trojan obstacle clearing vehicle, and operated an Archer mobile artillery system.

The war in Ukraine has shown how quickly combat technologies are changing, so the Prince also inspected a hydrogen-powered drone.

At the Tapa military base, he asked the soldiers about the new "drone threat" faced by modern armies and the "change in tactics" that would be needed for this.

Remind

Earlier, UNN reported that Prince William of Wales visited Estonia to demonstrate support for allies from Great Britain. During the visit, the representative of the British royal family visited the Freedom School in Tallinn, where he met with Ukrainian refugee schoolchildren.
