The French Interior Minister confirmed that the opening ceremony of the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris will not undergo any changes despite the increased terrorist threats: 45,000 police officers will provide extraordinary security for the event.

He assured the audience that everything was being done in advance to ensure the security of the event. As an example, he cited the expulsion of more than 1,000 people from the S list (persons who pose a threat to the country's security - ed.) from France, "as a way to protect themselves" from attacks.

As previously reported by French President Emmanuel Macron, an affiliate of the Islamic State terrorist group, which claimed responsibility for the shooting at a concert hall in Russia, has "made several attempts to strike on French soil in recent months.
France has asked 45 foreign countries to provide several thousand additional military, police and civilian personnel to ensure security for the Olympic Games in Paris this summer. 35 of them have already agreed to join forces to ensure the security of the games.
