PACE creates a committee on Ukrainian children

The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe has approved a special committee chaired by Olena Khomenko to examine violations of children's rights in Ukraine in the context of the conflict with Russia.

The Bureau of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe approved the composition of the special committee on the situation of children in Ukraine. This was reported by Yevhenia Kravchuk, deputy chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Humanitarian and Information Policy, member of the Ukrainian delegation to PACE, UNN reports.

We will work on the issues of violation of children's rights by the Russian occupiers, as well as the problem of abduction and deportation of Ukrainian children. I hope for fruitful cooperation and practical results

The Special Committee was headed by Ukrainian delegate Olena Khomenko. It also included Maria Mezentseva, Pavlo Sushko, Larysa Bilozir, and Oleksandra Ustinova.

Addendum 

It is noted that the first meeting of the committee will be held on December 15 in Paris. 

To recap, 

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Ukraine can document about 20 thousand cases of forced displacement of Ukrainian children, but the real number is higher.
