The Security Service of Ukraine detained two Russian agents in Lviv who were planning to blow up a Ukrainian military car. The attackers planted explosives in the car, they face life imprisonment.
The Security Service thwarted another attempt by the Russian special services to carry out a terrorist attack in the western regions of Ukraine. As a result of complex measures in Lviv, two Russian agents were detained who were preparing to blow up the car of a soldier of the Defense Forces. Both defendants were detained "red-handed" while they were planting an improvised explosive device (IED), disguised in a sports bag, under the car of a Ukrainian defender. Thus, the occupiers planned to remotely detonate the car using a call to one of the phones connected to the explosives,

According to the SBU investigators, the IED was equipped with 4.5 kg of explosives and additional striking elements - nuts.
According to the case materials, the Russian order was carried out by two residents of Zakarpattia aged 22 and 23, who came to the attention of the occupiers while searching for "easy money" on Telegram channels.
After remote recruitment, the agents arrived in Lviv, took the explosives from the cache and conducted reconnaissance near the car of the Ukrainian soldier. Then, opposite the parking place of the potential target, they installed a telephone camera with remote access function for the occupiers.
In this way, Russian special services wanted to record the consequences of the planned terrorist attack. But SBU cyber specialists exposed the traitors in advance, neutralized the IED and the "surveillance" camera, and thus prevented the terrorist attack
Investigators of the Security Service informed the agents of suspicion under Part 2 of Art. 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (treason committed under martial law). The perpetrators are in custody. They face life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
