A fire near the Savasleyka airfield in Russia after a drone strike was detected by a NASA satellite, the Russian service of Radio Liberty reported on Wednesday, UNN reports.

Satellites detected fires on the ground near the Savasleyka military airfield in the Nizhny Novgorod region, which was attacked by drones last night. The fact of the explosion on the territory of the airbase is confirmed by and the geolocation of one of the eyewitness videos.
Among other things, this airbase is home to MiG-31K fighter jets, the carriers of the Kinzhal missiles that Russia uses to strike Ukraine.

On the night of August 14, Russia was attacked by drones. The Russian Ministry of Defense claims to have shot down four missiles and 117 UAVs. Public reports claim explosions near military airfields. In particular, in the Voronezh region, the Borisoglebsk airfield was reportedly on fire after the attack. In the Nizhny Novgorod region, there were reports of "arrivals" at Savasleyka, where MiG-31K Kinzhal missile carriers are based.
According to ISW, Russian miliblogs claim that Ukrainian forces continue to advance in the Kursk region amid Russia's attempts to stabilize the front line in the area.
