The Moldovan Emergency Commission has introduced an alert regime in the gas sector due to the risk of interruptions in gas supplies. The reason was the military actions in the Kursk region, where the Suja gas metering station is located.

The Commission for Emergency Situations has introduced an alert regime in the gas sector in Moldova due to the risk of gas supply disruptions caused by military operations in the Kursk region of russia. This decision was taken by the Commission on August 8 after a request from the Ministry of Energy.  About it UNN reports with reference to NewsMaker.

It is reported that the commission for emergencies familiarized itself with the information provided by the Ministry of Energy on the potential risk of disruptions in gas supplies as a result of military actions in the area of the Suja gas metering station, through which gas is supplied to Moldova. It decided to take preventive measures to ensure the country's energy security.

"The commission members have stated that there are no disruptions or serious risks of disruptions right now. The introduction of an alert regime will give the responsible institutions the necessary leverage to closely monitor and promptly intervene if the need arises," the commission's decision said.

On 8 August, the Energy Ministry demanded the introduction of an alert regime in the gas sector, given the military actions on Russian territory near Kursk. According to Energy Minister Viktor Parlikov, there are no gas supply interruptions or a serious threat of system failure at the moment. However, Parlikov said that the Ukrainian gas transportation operator had informed Vestmoldtransgaz that there was a possible risk that there might be certain restrictions given the military actions on the territory.
