Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Vienna from Moscow on a two-day visit to Austria, joining a dinner hosted by Austrian Chancellor Karl Nehammer.
Based on the joint press statements, it can be concluded that russian aggression against Ukraine was a major theme of the meeting. The head of the Indian government reiterated his formulation from Moscow that "this is not an era of war".
Modi again failed to condemn the Russian attack "as India tries to strike a balance between the West and rf", media reports said.
The country needs both poles in Asia, for example, to assert itself against China. The fact that Modi reiterated his words in Europe that this is "not an era of war" shows that New Delhi is serious about seeking the West's favor.
Karl Nehammer suggested Austria - as "part of the EU" but "not part of a military alliance" - as a partner and a place for dialog to end Russia's war of aggression against Ukraine, ORF notes.
