Ukraine has identified the first 72 vocational schools that will receive 500 million hryvnias of public funds to upgrade their workshops. This is reported by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, UNN writes.
Details
It is noted that institutions are being transformed as part of the #100 workshops project. At the end of spring, they will begin large-scale renovations of classrooms, and next school year everyone will be able to get an education there.
The most popular areas in which workshops will be created in 72 vocational schools:
- Agriculture - 14 workshops;
- catering - 10 workshops;
- industry and machine building - 7 workshops;
- construction and road transport - 6 workshops.
Workshops will also be created for such profiles as welding, metalworking, woodworking, etc.
The goal of the project is to create conditions for training specialists who are critically lacking in the labor market today. At the same time, it will give impetus to the development of vocational education in general. When selecting the winning institutions, applications were carefully evaluated. Each institution had to predict what impact the new workshop would have on the region's economic growth and labor market. In the end, most workshops will be created in the areas of agriculture and catering. These are the areas where we need specialists here and now. In addition, the priority is given to mechanical engineering, construction and road transport
Also this year, two workshops will be set up to train operators of remotely piloted vehicles, i.e., civilian drones. The profession is planned to be licensed in 2024.
In this area, workshops will be updated at the Ternopil Vocational College with enhanced military and physical training and the Chernivtsi Higher Vocational School of Radio Electronics.
The list of winners who will receive funds to upgrade their workshops can be found at.
Addendum
The Ministry of Education and Science will develop guidelines for the look of future workshops in cooperation with the BigCityLab urban bureau. This will make it possible to make the premises innovative, technological and convenient for learning.
The Ministry of Education and Science will also update the design of vocational school websites together with the Spiilka design bureau.
All the participants developed design projects for future workshops, calculated detailed estimates, and explained why they needed this or that equipment. It is important that local authorities and businesses were involved in the creation of most of the applications. We want this kind of interaction, this constant dialog between businesses, institutions and local officials to always take place
Recall
More than a third of Ukraine's vocational schools have applied to participate in the state program to repair classrooms and upgrade equipment.
