Memorabilia, works of art, and other valuable items from the personal archive of Matthew Perry, the star of the popular TV series "Friends," are being auctioned off to benefit a foundation named in his honor. This was reported by UNN with reference to Associated Press News.

The corresponding event will take place on June 5 and will be aimed at supporting the Matthew Perry Foundation, which provides assistance in the treatment of substance abuse and works to combat the stigma of drug addiction.

The following items from the actor's personal collection will be put up for auction:

• A collection of 26 scripts from the TV series "Friends" from key episodes, including "The One with Ross's Tan," "The One Where Joey Speaks French," and the two-part series finale;
• Scripts for the pilot episode and the first part of the series finale, signed by Perry and his co-stars — Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, and David Schwimmer, donated by Warner Bros., the company that produced the series;
• The 1995 Screen Actors Guild Award that Perry received for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series;
• Perry's personal copy of the yellow peephole frame from Monica and Rachel's apartment in the series "Friends";
• Perry's photo album dedicated to the series "Friends," titled "The One with the Last Supper";
• Works of art by Banksy and Mel Bochner that belonged to Perry.

Context

Matthew Perry was found dead in the hot tub of his Hollywood home on October 28, 2023. A medical examiner determined that the primary cause of death was the acute effects of the anesthetic ketamine.

Five people pleaded guilty to charges brought following the investigation into his death, including two doctors and a drug dealer who confessed to the crime.

The series "Friends" aired on the American television network NBC from 1994 to 2004. The main roles were played by Jennifer Aniston (Rachel Karen Green), Courteney Cox (Monica Geller), Lisa Kudrow (Phoebe Buffay), Matt LeBlanc (Joey Tribbiani), Matthew Perry (Chandler Bing), and David Schwimmer (Ross Geller).
