Hungarian Prime Minister Peter Madjar stated that the country will grant refugee status to men from Transcarpathia who avoid conscription, even if the EU decides not to provide them protection. Interior Minister Gabor Posfai does not support the European Commission's proposal.
Hungarian Prime Minister Péter Magyar stated that if the EU decides not to grant protection status to newly arriving military-aged men from Ukraine, "this will not prevent Hungary from granting refugee status to those from Transcarpathia who come to the country to avoid conscription," reports Index, writes UNN.

President of the "Mi Hazánk" party László Toroczkai, during a parliamentary session, drew attention to the position of the European Commission, according to which temporary protection should not be granted in the future to those arriving from Ukraine whom the Ukrainian authorities have not allowed to leave the country due to military obligations.
As the publication writes, commenting, Peter Magyar stated that the country's Minister of Interior Gábor Pósfai "firmly stated that they do not support the European Commission's proposal." The Prime Minister of Hungary, as noted, "explained that if the European Union makes a wrong decision, it will not prevent Hungary from granting refugee status to those from Transcarpathia who come to the country to avoid conscription."
