Ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets announced the possible detention of more than 16 thousand civilian Ukrainians in Russian captivity. Among the prisoners are at least 6 mayors of cities and heads of communities.
Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for Human Rights Dmytro Lubinets, suggests that more than 16 thousand civilian Ukrainians are being held captive by Russia. He stated this during a briefing, reports UNN.
In captivity of Russia, not only the military, there are civilians. We can only assume that there are more than 16 thousand of them there. Can I assume that it is not final? I don't just assume, I know!
According to him, the Russians take all Ukrainians prisoner if they suspect them of the Ukrainian position.
"This figure will be even higher when we release all those who are left and physically see who is left and carry out the verification procedure," he stressed.
