The Foreign Minister said that russia will not be able to avoid responsibility for the downing of Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 in 2014, and the entire command staff must be brought to justice.

russia will not be able to avoid responsibility for the downing of the Malaysian airliner MH17 in 2014 in the skies over Donetsk region. The entire command staff must be brought to justice. Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said this in a commentary to the South China Morning Post, UNN reports.

Life imprisonment for those responsible for this crime is proof that russia will not be able to avoid responsibility. Sooner or later, those who started this tragedy must also be brought to justice

- Kuleba said.

Ukraine's Foreign Ministry insists that not only those who launched the missile, but also the entire command staff should be brought to justice.

Justice was served, at least in part, by the Dutch court, which established the truth and identified the perpetrators. But I think that even this did not fully assuage the pain of the families

- added the Ukrainian minister.

Recall

In 2014, Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 from the Netherlands to Malaysia was shot down in the skies over Donetsk region, where pro-russian militants and the Ukrainian army were fighting. There were 298 people on board, all of whom were killed.

The investigation proved that the plane was shot down by a missile from a Buk anti-aircraft missile system. Investigators also proved that the missile was fired from the territory controlled by the so-called "dpr" militants at the time, and that the Buk came from russia.

In 2022, the District Court of The Hague found three people guilty of involvement in the downing of the Malaysian Boeing, including the former "defense minister" of the so-called "dpr" and retired fsb colonel igor gorkin (better known as igor strelkov).
