The KCSA denies that the prosecutor's office tried to stop the operation of the Dnipro Canal Crossing attraction in 2021. The administration emphasizes the need for a fair investigation into the tragic incident and calls for avoiding manipulation.

The Kyiv City State Administration emphasizes that in 2021, the prosecutor's office did not try to cancel the operation of the attraction, which killed a person today, through the court. UNN writes about this with reference to a statement from the KCSA.

Details

The KCSA emphasizes the need for a fair and honest investigation into the tragic accident at the canal crossing over the Dnipro.

In 2021, the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office did not try to cancel the operation of the attraction itself through the court, but only challenged the results of the investment tender against the winning company and the corresponding order of the KCSA of January 11, 2021

- emphasize in the city state administration.

The agency explains that the attraction itself did not exist as such at the time.

The decision of the Kyiv Commercial Court of 02.12.2021, upheld by the decision of the Northern Commercial Court of Appeal of 16.06.2022 and the Supreme Court of 14.09.2022, dismissed the claim of the prosecutor's office.

The KCSA says that the court's decision in this case took into account the availability of the necessary permits related to the tenderer's activities.

We also draw attention to the incorrectness of the statement regarding the project documentation: it was supposed to be developed by the winner of the tender and, on its basis, to obtain the relevant permits from the relevant state bodies and agencies, as provided by the current legislation. And it is precisely in terms of compliance with these requirements and rules that the investigation must carefully examine

- KCSA emphasized.

As a result, the Kyiv City State Administration promises to cooperate with the investigation if necessary and calls for an end to manipulation of the tragedy.

The tragedy should not become another subject of public manipulation by law enforcement, as evidenced by public statements by the prosecutor's office. (...) The city will cooperate with the investigation to ensure a fair outcome of the investigation and prevent such cases in the future

- KCSA emphasized.

Recall

Police have opened proceedings under two articles  after a cable broke on a zip line across the Dnipro River, causing a 20-year-old man to fall into the river .

The KCSA noted that the city will demand that law enforcement officers conduct a thorough investigation into the activities of the company that operates the Dnipro River descent attraction in Kyiv, where a cable broke and a person fell into the river.

In turn, the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office stated that it tried to stop the operation of theattraction, a descent across the Dnipro River, back in 2021. Courts and officials disagreed that the cable car was a high-risk attraction.
