Italy has raised its alert level to yellow due to lava emissions, tremors and the risk of more activity from the Etna volcano on the island of Sicily and the Stromboli volcano in the Tyrrhenian Sea.

Details
Lava ejection and tremors around the Etna volcano in Sicily have caused alarm in Italy. However, Etna's activity remains above average at the moment.
The yellow level was introduced due to the fact of "lava emissions", the fixing of earth tremors, and the risk that the situation could quickly move to "more energetic".
Supplement
Adding to Etna's intensified activity is the activity of the Stromboli volcano, located on an island in the Tyrrhenian Sea in southern Italy, which yesterday recorded an ash cloud with explosions and magma releases.
Reference
Stromboli, which gave its name to a type of very explosive eruption, is located in the archipelago of the Aeolian Islands, near Sicily, and usually records these eruptions, which have become another tourist attraction on the island.
In turn, episodes of Etna's eruptions are typical of its activity and cover the surrounding cities with ash.
There have been hundreds of them from 1977 to the present, including an exceptional sequence of 66 tremors between January and August 2000 and about 50 between 2011 and 2013.
Recall
UNN previously reported that on the Reykjanes Peninsula near the city of Grindavik in May 2024 began volcanic eruption: the authorities evacuated citizens and vacationers from the geothermal resort "Blue Lagoon".
