Israel strikes military targets in Syria's Tartus

The Israeli Air Force carried out large-scale strikes on military targets in Syria's Tartus and Latakia. Air defense bases, surface-to-surface missile depots, and other military facilities near the Russian naval base were attacked.
On the night of December 16, Israeli military aviation carried out a series of powerful air strikes on military targets in the Syrian port city of Tartus, where an important Russian naval base and ship repair facility are located. This was reported by The Times of Israel, according to UNN.

It is noted that targets in the Syrian province of Latakia also came under air strikes by the Israeli Air Force.
According to Israeli media, a Syrian military observer called the attack on the Tartus facilities "the most powerful strikes" in the area in more than a decade, since 2012.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) claims that Israeli warplanes have struck a number of targets, including air defense units and "surface-to-surface missile bases.
Syrian sources said that the strikes in Tarusa targeted a military base of air defense forces and a depot of surface-to-surface missiles.
It is also reported that, according to the VolcanoDiscovery website, at 00:48 Damascus time, weak aftershocks of 3.0 magnitude were recorded in the Tartus area amid these shocks and explosions.
