Narendra Modi announced his upcoming visit to Ukraine at Zelenskyy's invitation. The Indian prime minister hopes to discuss a peaceful resolution to the conflict and deepen bilateral relations.
Before his visit to Ukraine, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi indicated the hope for "an early return of peace and stability in the region," UNN reports.
I will be visiting Ukraine at the invitation of President Zelenskyy. This visit will be an opportunity to build on the earlier discussions with him and deepening the India-Ukraine friendship. We will also share perspectives on the peaceful resolution of the ongoing Ukraine conflict. As a friend and partner, we hope for an early return of peace and stability in the region

According to DW, a number of documents are expected to be signed between Ukraine and India during the visit. This is Modi's first visit to Ukraine since the establishment of diplomatic relations 30 years ago.
On July 8-9, the Indian Prime Minister paid an official visit to Russia, where he held talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
India has so far avoided directly condemning Russia's attack on Ukraine and instead has called on both warring parties to engage in dialogue. The country has maintained close relations with Russia since the Cold War. At the same time, India is also seeking a security partnership with the West, wanting to enlist its support against a rival China, AFP reports.
