The commander of a military unit who involved the military in the construction of his house and shop was detained in Zhytomyr region. This was stated by the prosecutor's office in the field of defense of the central region, reports UNN.

According to the investigation, the suspect involved his subordinate servicemen in the construction of his own private house and shop.
At the same time, he caused material damage to the state in the form of unjustified accrual of financial support and additional payments to these servicemen in the amount of more than UAH 378 thousand.
Under the procedural supervision of the Zhytomyr Specialized Defense Prosecutor's Office of the Central Region, a commander of a military unit was served a notice of suspicion of abuse of power and authority (Part 5 of Article 426-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The commander was detained in accordance with Article 208 of the CPC of Ukraine
The issue of choosing a measure of restraint is currently being decided.
