In Ukraine, fines of up to 170,000 hryvnias may be introduced for Russian songs in restaurants - draft law

A group of people's deputies registered in the Verkhovna Rada draft law No. 15430, which provides for fines for songs in the language of the aggressor state in restaurants, cafes and other public catering establishments. This is reported by UNN with reference to the draft law card.

According to the draft law, it is proposed to establish that during customer service, the performance and reproduction of songs and other musical works with text, phonograms, videograms, music clips must be carried out in the state language or any other language, except for the language of the state recognized by the Verkhovna Rada as the aggressor state.

At the same time, it is clarified that the rule on personal service of a client in another language at his request will not apply to musical accompaniment.

In case of violation of these requirements, the Commissioner for the Protection of the State Language or his representative, without prior warning and a demand to eliminate the violation, will be able to draw up a protocol.

Thus, for the first violation, a business entity will be fined in the amount of 8.5 thousand hryvnias to 17 thousand hryvnias.

For a repeated violation within a year - a fine from 17 thousand hryvnias to 85 thousand hryvnias, and for the third and each subsequent violation within a year - a fine from 85 thousand hryvnias to 170 thousand hryvnias.
