Russia doubles hours of military training in schools
Kyiv • UNN
Russian schools plan to double the number of hours of military training, introducing mandatory drone piloting instruction. A new subject, "Spiritual and Moral Culture of Russia," is also being introduced with the participation of war veterans.

Russia continues to intensify the militarization of school education and actively involves children in war propaganda. This is reported by the Center for Countering Disinformation of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine (CCD), reports UNN.
Details
It is noted that starting from the new academic year, Russian schools plan to double the number of hours of military training.
Under the guise of "patriotic education," schoolchildren will be required to learn to operate unmanned aerial vehicles and the basics of military affairs. In addition, a new subject is being introduced into the school curriculum - "Spiritual and Moral Culture of Russia." Dozens of participants in the war against Ukraine, whom the Russian authorities position as "heroes," will be involved in teaching it.
It is indicated that, operating with concepts such as "morality," propagandists turn a blind eye to the fact that war is one of the most immoral and unacceptable phenomena in life.
"Instead, the Kremlin continues to shape children's perception of war as the norm, preparing a new generation for a prolonged military confrontation and justifying the aggressive policy of their own state," the CCD concludes.
Reminder
From September 1, 2026, all transport higher education institutions in the Russian Federation will introduce a mandatory course on unmanned systems. The program will cover 19 universities and 86 branches, obliging over 250,000 students to master skills for the war against Ukraine.
