Two russian officers received a four-year sentence for failing to prevent a missile strike by Ukraine in April 2022, which killed seven people and destroyed military equipment. They may soon apply for parole because they have already served part of their sentence.

A moscow court handed down the first sentence to the officers who failed to repel a Ukrainian missile strike, as a result of which seven occupants were killed and 15 pieces of equipment were destroyed. About this rossmi, writes UNN.

It is noted that the impact, which became the subject of legal proceedings, was inflicted back in April 2022 with sides of the Kharkiv region of Ukraine presumably with Tochka-U missiles on the composition ammunition and equipment located near the village of Staraya nelidovka, Belgorod region regions.

According to the publication, the 2nd Western District Military Court of Moscow considered the criminal case against Lieutenant Colonel Anatoly behind closed doors Bondarev and Major Dmitry Dmitrakov, who were accused of " violating the rules combat duty to repel a surprise attack on the territory of Russia."

The sentence was relatively lenient: the corresponding article provides for up to 10 years imprisonment in a high-security penal colony, the newspaper notes. More than a year and a half since they have already served a four-year sentence while under investigation and trial, and therefore, they may soon apply for parole.

After serving their sentence, they can return to the Russian armed forces, since they were not deprived of their ranks.
