Law enforcement officers established that two acquaintances were drinking alcoholic beverages in Kyiv's Dniprovskyi district, and a quarrel soon broke out between them.
"Unable to control his emotions, the 29-year-old suspect fired twice from a weapon in the direction of his friend, wounding him in the chest and leg. The 30-year-old victim was hospitalized and is currently in serious condition in a hospital," police reported.
Police located and detained the suspect.
During investigative actions, they seized a revolver chambered for Flaubert cartridges, allegedly used to commit the crime.
The detainee was notified of suspicion under Part 1 of Article 121 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine—intentional grievous bodily injury dangerous to life at the time it was inflicted. The article carries a penalty of up to eight years in prison.
