In Kremenchuk, a man died after being at the TCR, an investigation has been launched - SBI

The SBI opened a case over the death of a 52-year-old man who was hospitalized with severe injuries after the TCR. The cause of death was a traumatic brain injury, likely from a blunt object.

The State Bureau of Investigation is investigating the circumstances of a man's death after his stay at the Kremenchuk District Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Center in Poltava region, the SBI reported, writes UNN.
SBI officers opened criminal proceedings over the death of a 52-year-old man who, after being at the Kremenchuk District Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Center, was hospitalized with severe bodily injuries
As stated by the SBI, according to preliminary information, on the evening of July 2, 2026, police officers stopped a car driven by the man. During the conversation, the driver reportedly showed signs of alcohol intoxication.
On the night of July 3, the man was taken to the Kremenchuk District Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Center, where he stayed until July 4. Law enforcement officers are checking the circumstances of his possible bodily injuries during this period. Later, the man was hospitalized in serious condition to the intensive care unit of one of Kremenchuk's hospitals. On July 5, he underwent surgery, but on July 9, he died
According to the SBI, "according to the medical certificate, the cause of death was closed craniocerebral trauma, fracture of the skull base bones, as well as hemorrhages under the membranes and into the brain substance." "According to preliminary conclusions, the bodily injuries could have been caused by a blunt object," the statement reads.
Criminal proceedings, as stated, have been opened under Part 5 of Article 426-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - exceeding authority or official powers by a military official, committed under martial law.
"Currently, SBI officers are establishing the full chronology of events, the circumstances of the man's bodily injuries, and the persons who may be involved in this," the bureau reported.
Within the criminal proceedings, as noted, "video surveillance recordings have been seized and are being analyzed, interrogations of center employees are being conducted, documents and other materials that may be relevant to establishing the circumstances of the event are being examined."
"The actions of all persons who had contact with the man from the moment he was stopped by police officers until his hospitalization are also being checked," the statement said.
