In Uzhhorod, a man died in a hospital after falling from a window of the TCR (Territorial Recruitment Center). A criminal investigation has been opened, reported on Thursday by the Zakarpattia Regional TCR and the Main Department of the National Police in Zakarpattia Region, writes UNN.

"We report that the citizen who jumped from a third-floor window of the building used by the Uzhhorod TCR on July 8 was hospitalized and died in a medical facility. The circumstances of the incident were recorded by a surveillance camera. The video shows the citizen heading to the window," reported the Zakarpattia Regional TCR.

According to the TCR, "before the incident, the man was in the premises and behaved calmly." "Prior to that, he stated his readiness to serve in the Defense Forces of Ukraine on the territory of Zakarpattia region," the statement reads.

"Immediately after the incident, servicemen of the Zakarpattia Regional TCR, as well as other individuals present at the scene, provided first emergency aid to the victim, called emergency services, and continued to provide pre-medical care until the arrival of medics," the TCR stated.

According to the report, the ambulance "hospitalized the man, but despite all the efforts of medical workers, his life could not be saved." "He died from his injuries in a medical facility," the TCR reported.

According to the Main Department of the National Police in Zakarpattia Region, the police are investigating the death of a man after falling from an administrative building in Uzhhorod.

"Officers of the Uzhhorod District Police Department are investigating the death of a man who sustained bodily injuries as a result of falling from a window of the TCR building," the police reported.

As the police stated, the incident occurred yesterday, July 8. An investigative-operational group worked at the scene, conducting initial investigative actions and documenting the circumstances of the incident. The victim was hospitalized with severe injuries.

"Despite the measures taken by doctors, the man died in the hospital," the police confirmed.

Regarding the death, the police have opened criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Within the framework of the pre-trial investigation, necessary forensic examinations have been ordered, and the establishment of all circumstances of the event is ongoing.

"On July 6, 2026, he was brought in by officers of Police Department No. 2 of the Uzhhorod District Police Department. Subsequently, he was called up for military service and assigned to serve in one of the units of the National Guard of Ukraine in Zakarpattia region, where he was at the assembly point awaiting dispatch," the statement said.

"Following the incident, the Uzhhorod zonal department of the Military Law Enforcement Service has launched an inspection," stated the representative office of the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights.
