Former Dnipro police officers have been notified of suspicion for torturing a detainee. The man received over 20 blows and was admitted to intensive care in critical condition.

In Dnipro, two former law enforcement officers were notified of suspicion of torture and intentional infliction of grievous bodily harm to a man detained after a domestic conflict. This was reported by UNN with reference to the Office of the Prosecutor General.

According to the investigation, in June 2024, law enforcement officers arrived at a call regarding a stabbing between neighbors in the Dnipro district. During the conflict, one of the men wounded a neighbor, after which he called an ambulance himself and immediately admitted to the circumstances of the incident.
Following this, according to the investigation, the police officers handcuffed him, took him out into the yard, and began beating him, demanding that he "not forget what to say at the district station." Over the course of 15 minutes, they delivered more than 20 blows with their hands and feet.

Medics hospitalized the man in intensive care. He was diagnosed with severe bodily injuries, significant blood loss, traumatic hemothorax, and a fractured rib.
