In Armenia, a pro-Russian bloc has filed a petition to annul the election results

The "Strong Armenia" political bloc has submitted an application to the Central Electoral Commission to annul the results of the parliamentary elections held on June 7. This was reported by Azatutyun, according to UNN.

Details

A representative of the political force and parliamentary candidate, Aram Vardevanyan, stated that the authorities utilized administrative resources and spoke of criminal prosecutions, an atmosphere of fear, and violations on voting day.

"Strong Armenia" considers at least 100,000 votes cast for the "Civil Contract" party to be questionable.

Vardevanyan claims that "Civil Contract" did not win and that a second round should have taken place.

The CEC will consider the application from "Strong Armenia" this Sunday, the day the final election results are to be released.

In the submitted application, "Strong Armenia" also demands a recount of votes, on which the commission must make a separate decision.

According to Aram Vardevanyan, if the results from the disputed polling stations affect the outcome of the election, a recount is mandatory.

Recall

The CEC of Armenia completed the vote count, where Pashinyan's party garnered 49.81%. Due to the redistribution of mandates, it is projected to receive about 60% of the seats in parliament.
