OP advisor Mykhailo Podolyak believes that Russia will agree to negotiations only when it realizes that the war is not going according to its plan. This will happen when Russian losses increase and the war spreads deeper into its territory.
Mykhailo Podolyak, Advisor to the Head of the Presidential Office, said that in case of negotiations on Russia's terms, they will believe that they dominate, and when they can sit at the negotiating table and get something or put pressure, only if they understand that the war is not going according to their scenario. He made this statement during a telethon the day before, against the backdrop of the events in the Kursk region of Russia, UNN reports.

"russia is gradually increasing the scope of the war on its territory, and this is an irreversible process. russians will realize that the 'effective planning' called 'Putin's strategy' is, well, 'very effective'. Today they have a war that is gradually moving deeper into Russia. Will it scare them? Yes. Will they react with anything other than fear? No. We must finally realize this," Podoliak said.
"Any compromise is perceived by Russia as your weakness. (...) And if you negotiate on Russia's terms... they will believe that they dominate the negotiation process, among other things. When they can sit at the negotiating table and still be able to push for something, to get something, only if they realize that the war is not going according to their scenario," Podolyak said.
At the same time, he pointed out that "only the military, if necessary, can talk about what is happening in the Kursk region, who is doing what there from a military point of view, from an operational and tactical point of view, if necessary, I emphasize.
"Escalation is only what Russia is doing, all Ukraine is doing is trying to come to a just peace. - Podolyak said. - "Our partners are finally realizing that everything that concerns Ukraine's actions is the sovereign right of Ukraine and it is about de-escalation, it is about the right way to finalize this war," Podolyak said.
