Honored Artist Liubov Kolesnykova has passed away at the age of 74. She was known for her role as Baba Palazhka in the TV series "To Catch the Kaidash" and for her work at the Chernihiv Drama Theater.
Honored Artist of Ukraine, known for her role as Baba Palazhka in the TV series "To Catch the Kaidash," has passed away at the age of 74. This was reported by actor Hryhorii Baklanov, who played the role of Lavrin in the series "To Catch the Kaidash," according to UNN.

"Liubov Stepanivna. Our Baba Palazhka. After filming the Kaidash series, we hardly crossed paths. We only spoke on the phone from time to time and saw each other maybe once over these years.
Sasha Timenko always cast her in his new projects whenever possible. All this time, she was raising her grandson alone, who recently turned 18. And she was fighting an illness," Baklanov wrote.
He noted that he last spoke with Kolesnykova a month ago.
"She asked everyone for forgiveness if she (thought) she had offended anyone anywhere. And now she is gone. May she rest in peace, our dear one," Baklanov added.

Liubov Kolesnykova was born on July 1, 1951, in the village of Ostriv, Korosten district, Zhytomyr region.
In 1971, Kolesnykova began working on the stage of the Nizhyn Kotsiubynsky Drama Theater. In March 1978, she was invited to the Chernihiv Drama Theater, where she worked until her final day.
During her theatrical career, the actress played over a hundred diverse roles. Notably: Juno in "Aeneid" by I. Kotlyarevsky, Anna in "101st Kilometer" by O. Galin, Chanel in "8 Women" by R. Thomas, Odarka in "Pharaohs" by O. Kolomiyets, Korobochka in "Dead Souls," Baba Palazhka in "The Kaidash Family" by I. Nechuy-Levytsky, Mavra in "On Sunday Morning She Gathered Herbs," Mammy in "The Cripple of Inishmaan," and Hordylia in "Gypsy Aza" by M. Starytsky. In particular, the actress created many stage characters in plays for children.
By the Decree of the President of Ukraine dated March 26, 2018, No. 87/2018, Liubov Kolesnykova was awarded the title of Honored Artist of Ukraine.
