The Minister of Energy said that the main work on the construction of KhNPP Units 3 and 4 is still ahead. The project involves the installation of equipment based on the American Westinghouse AP1000 technology.

Key work on the construction of Khmelnytsky NPP Units 3 and 4 is still ahead. Today, it is a matter of installing the appropriate equipment. This was announced by Energy Minister Herman Halushchenko in an interview during a telethon, a UNN correspondent reports .

When asked what the scope of work is and how long it will take to complete the project for the construction of KhNPP Units 3 and 4, Halushchenko answered:

There is still key work to be done, because today we are talking about installing the appropriate equipment. These are key works on the unit itself. We are not only talking with the US about 3, 4 and 5, 6. I think that this will be one of the priority projects for the United States, because these are reactors based on the American technology of Westinghouse AR 1000.

Galushchenko believes that  Ukraine has very significant prospects to be one of the leaders in Europe in the implementation of this technology.
