People dressed as geese with the inscription "Touch me - don't touch business!" came to Mind Entrepreneur Summit 2024, a conference for small and medium-sized businesses, where Danylo Hetmantsev, chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Finance, Taxation and Customs Policy, was scheduled to speak, UNN reports.
Earlier, users criticized the organizers for inviting Hetmantsev to the summit for business. They believed that his upcoming speech there was "like inviting Putin to a conference on the restoration of Ukraine." Initially, it was announced that Hetmantsev would speak for half an hour, but later it became known that he would be making a video address. In the end, it turned out that Hetmantsev's speech was recorded.
At the beginning of the summit, three people dressed as geese entered the hall. They were wearing T-shirts with the words "Touch me - don't touch the business!".
Probably, this is a reference to of the famous phrase by Hetmantsev: "What is proper taxation? It is the art of plucking a goose without it screaming.
After the broadcast of Hetmantsev's address began, the "geese" began to walk around the hall in a demonstrative manner. When they stopped under the stage and turned their backs on Hetmantsev, the organizers and security guards kicked the "geese" out of the hall and then took them outside the summit.
Yevhen Shpytko, editor-in-chief of Mind.ua, moderating one of the discussion panels after Hetmantsev's address, noted that the head of the Tax Committee "may be saying controversial things" and asked in this context: "Where did our geese go?", hinting that they were opposed to Hetmantsev.
