Massive Russian attacks have resumed, so Ukrainians need to be prepared for any scenario, including possible spring and summer power outages, Energy Minister Herman Galushchenko said.

Massive Russian attacks have now resumed, so we need to be prepared for any scenario. This was stated by the Minister of Energy of Ukraine Herman Halushchenko during a telethon, commenting on the possibility of spring and summer blackouts, a correspondent of UNN reports.

When asked whether spring and summer blackouts are possible due to a lack of capacity and what Ukrainians should prepare for, Galushchenko replied: "Let's assume that the war is ongoing, the attacks are not over. The answer to this question lies in further attacks, and not even in the fact of them, because they happen every day, but in terms of the impact of those attacks on the power system.

He noted that he was often asked about blackouts before the start of the heating season last year.

"I can repeat myself once again, and in principle, I always said when people asked  whether to buy generators and power banks, I always answered: buy, get ready, and we will do everything in our power to make sure you don't need them. As it was last winter... Now massive attacks have resumed, so we need to be prepared for any scenario," the minister added.

Herman Halushchenko statedthat the goal of the Russian occupiers today is to achieve a total blackout in Ukraine, but they have not achieved this. The energy system is stable.

Oleksandr Kubrakov , Vice Prime Minister for Reconstruction and Minister of Development of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure of Ukraine, notedthat the second level of protection, which is designed to protect against "shaheds," has been built at almost all 22 Ukrenergo substations.
