Finland has pledged 3 million euros to support grain transportation and demining in Ukraine to improve food security and help restore agriculture.

Finland has decided to provide Ukraine with additional support in the amount of three million euros to help with the transportation of grain and demining of rural areas. UNN reports this with reference to the press service of the Finnish government.

Finland will provide 3 million euros as additional support to improve food security in Ukraine. The funding will be used to support grain supplies from Ukraine to countries whose food security situation is affected by the consequences of Russia's aggressive war

, the Finnish government said in a statement.

2 million euros will be used as humanitarian aid to implement the World Food Program's Grain from Ukraine initiative. Part of the funds will be used to demine rural areas of Ukraine to restore agricultural production.

Earlier, Finland has already supported grain supplies worth 11.5 million euros.

By supporting the recovery of Ukraine's agricultural sector in war-affected areas, we are contributing to food security and economic recovery,

, said Minister of Foreign Trade and Development Ville Tavio.

The project was prepared in close cooperation with the Ukrainian administration. As a result of the additional funding, the total amount of Finland's support for humanitarian demining in Ukraine since the beginning of the aggressive war with Russia will be about 8.25 million euros.
