Kyiv • UNN
With the support of Favbet Foundation, more than 1,800 Ukrainian coaches and athletes will receive first aid knowledge. 10 trainings have already been conducted for 212 people.

In a critical moment, correct and quick actions can be decisive in saving lives. The first stage of training showed that this knowledge is not just theory, but really necessary skills, which is why Favbet Foundation together with FAST continues a large-scale initiative to train coaches and athletes in first aid skills. Reports RBC-Ukraine. Thanks to the support of the fund, more than 1,800 participants from all over Ukraine will receive invaluable knowledge and practical skills that make sports safer and life more protected.
What is studied in training
The training program includes critical first aid techniques:
- Stopping critical bleeding: using tourniquets, wound tamponade,
working with pressure bandages and Israeli bandages.
- Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR): algorithm of actions and use of an
automatic external defibrillator (AED).
- Assisting unconscious persons: ensuring patency
of the airways and placing the victim in a safe position.
- Actions in case of stroke, heart attack, seizure and drowning.
All skills are practiced under the supervision of professional FAST instructors, which guarantees the effectiveness of the learning process.
Since the beginning of 2025, with the support of the Favbet Foundation, 10 trainings have already been conducted, in which 212 coaches and athletes were trained. 10 national sports teams have already participated in the project.
"The mission of the project is not only to continuously promote the development of sports in Ukraine, but also to create the safety of every athlete. Thanks to this initiative, we are confident that coaches and athletes will acquire knowledge that will allow them to act decisively in extreme situations, saving human lives in the most critical moments. Only readiness to act can be the key to safety and success in any circumstances", Favbet Foundation noted.
"Since the beginning of the year, thanks to the support of partners, we have been training Ukrainian athletes in first aid skills. Emergency situations – injuries, loss of consciousness, respiratory arrest, etc. – are possible in sports. And our task is to ensure that as many athletes and coaches throughout the country as possible do not get confused in such a case, but react quickly and correctly, thereby helping themselves or someone nearby", said Yevhenia Zgurova, director of FAST.
