Energy Minister summoned to Rada over corruption scandals

The Verkhovna Rada summons Energy Minister Herman Halushchenko to give a report on the fight against corruption in the energy sector. The reason for this was three suspicions issued by the NABU to three officials from its structure in a month.

According to the MP, the reason was three suspicions issued by the NABU to three officials from its structure in a month.
The decision to summon the Minister to the Rada was supported by 270 MPs.

The NABU and SAPO reported that Deputy Minister of Energy of Ukraine Oleksandr Heilo and three of his accomplices were caught receiving a half-million dollar bribe for granting permission to export mining equipment from the frontline area.
The official of the Ministry of Energy and his three accomplices were detained red-handed. Their actions are classified as a crime under Part 4 Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
In this regard, the Cabinet of Ministers dismissed Oleksandr Hale from the post of Deputy Minister of Energy of Ukraine.
