The match at the Tofiq Bahramov Republican Stadium in the Azerbaijani capital began with a quick goal by the hosts: after a series of passes, the ball fell to Zhaly Muaddib, who accurately shot into the near corner of Viacheslav Surkis's goal.
In the middle of the second half, "Qarabağ" managed to double the score: Elvin Jafarquliyev sent the ball across the face of goal, and the Ukrainian forward of the Azerbaijani side, Oleksii Kashchuk, made it 2:0.
The Kyiv side also had their chances: Volodymyr Brazhko shot after a defensive error but was unable to beat Martin Zlomislić, Matvii Ponomarenko could not control the ball after going one-on-one with the goalkeeper, while Vladyslav Dubinchak's goal was disallowed by the referee for offside.
Ultimately, the match ended with a 2:1 aggregate victory for "Qarabağ", which advances, where it will most likely play against "Twente" for a place in the group stage; as of the 70th minute, "Twente" is leading "DAC 1904" by 2:2 and 8:2 on aggregate.
