This is the first visit of the Ukrainian minister to this country. According to the Foreign Ministry, the tour will also cover Zambia and Mauritius, which were not previously held by Ukrainian officials.

The main purpose of the visit is to strengthen relations with African countries.

"Whenever I go to foreign countries, I try to find some time between work meetings to talk to the locals, see everyday life, taste the dishes that the locals eat, and feel how this country and its people live," the minister wrote.

Kuleba stressed the importance of personal acquaintance with the country, which goes beyond official meetings and Protocol events. He noted the friendliness of the locals and the warm atmosphere of a real African market, adding that Malawi is deservedly called the "warm heart of Africa".

The visit took place on August 5, 2024, after the end of the working day and all planned negotiations.
