A spokesperson for the State Border Guard Service reported a decrease in the activity of enemy subversive reconnaissance groups in Sumy region. However, Russia continues daily shelling of the border areas.
The activity of enemy sabotage and reconnaissance groups in Sumy region has significantly decreased. This was reported by the State Border Guard Service spokesman Andriy Demchenko during a telethon on Friday, according to a UNN correspondent.

He noted that the situation on the border with Russia is still characterized by the fact that the enemy continues to shell Ukrainian territory in Sumy, Chernihiv and Kharkiv regions on a daily basis, but most of the attacks are in the Sumy direction.
"The actions taken by the Defense Forces in the direction of Sumy region, creating such a buffer zone, of course, allows those areas opposite this direction to be less exposed to shelling than before," said Demchenko.

Russian troops fired 17 times at night and in the morning of August 23 at the border areas and settlements of Sumy region. 47 explosions were recorded. The Russian army attacked with UAVs and FPV drones.
