China may know about Russia's attempts to recruit Chinese citizens for the war. The PRC probably allowed military officers to visit the front line in Ukraine together with the Russian military to obtain tactical information about the war.
The PRC government may be aware of attempts by the Russian military to recruit Chinese citizens and is not interested in combating these efforts. This is stated in the material of the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), reports UNN.

It is noted that, according to The Guardian, Russian organizations are actively conducting recruitment campaigns in several Chinese social media networks. At the same time, an unnamed former Western intelligence official said that the PRC allowed an unspecified number of PRC military officers to visit the front line in Ukraine with the Russian military to obtain tactical information about the war in Ukraine.
Sources also noted that the Chinese appear to have minimal training and have no noticeable impact on Russian military operations. ... These Chinese citizens likely signed contracts with the Russian Ministry of Defense of their own free will, not at the direction of PRC officials
At the same time, they remind that Ukrainian intelligence found that at least 155 Chinese citizens are fighting on the side of Russian troops in Ukraine. At the same time, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China stated that it does not have such information.
