According to the CCD, users are receiving fake messages from accounts posing as Signal technical support. These messages claim there is allegedly "suspicious activity" and a need to undergo "authentication" to avoid account suspension.
The Center emphasizes that this is actually an attempt by scammers to gain access to the user's account or device.
Signal does not send such messages in chats
Users are urged not to respond to such messages. If received, it is recommended to block the sender's account and file a report.
