It is noted that the agreement worth up to 1.6 billion pounds is financed by a British loan of 3.5 billion pounds to Ukraine for the purchase of British weapons. The signed contract will also contribute to the rapid development of the Irish company "Thales".
Over the next two years, the staff of 850 people will increase to 1050, and "Thales" will open a third factory in Northern Ireland
According to the publication, since January 2022, before the start of the full-scale Russian invasion, employees of the company "Thales" in Belfast produced NLAW missiles (a new generation of light anti-tank weapons) developed by the Swedish company Saab. Great Britain handed them over to Ukraine. It is not yet known exactly which missiles will be produced this time.
